What is Hyperthermia Therapy?

In cancer treatment, it is also known as thermal therapy, thermal ablation, or thermotherapy. Hyperthermia is a treatment that exposes the body tissue to high temperatures (up to 42˚C).  

 

Several results have shown that elevated temperature can damage and kill cancer cells with minimal or no harm to normal tissue. By killing cancer cells and destructing proteins and the structure within cells, Hyperthermia may help to shrink tumours.
